Alberta M. “Dolly” Briner, 82, of Bellevue, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Mill Valley Care Center. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, June 28, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue, family will greet friends 9:30 am until service time on Friday at Church. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Dolly was born July 15, 1936 in Chicago, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Olson) Kniffin. She married Dillard Briner on March 7, 1975 in Warrenville, Illinois. They spent many summers on their houseboat at Spruce Creek in Bellevue before settling in Bellevue in 1992 after retiring. Dolly and Dillard also spent many winters in Oklahoma. Dolly worked for Automatic Electric which later became Verizon for 26 years and then worked for Jel-Sert (Freeze Pops) before retiring. Dolly and Dillard enjoyed country music dancing, going to garage sales, going to auctions, traveling, and spending time together. Survivors include her husband, Dillard; children, Jackie (Allen) Christy, Lynn Kennedy, Lee (Roberta) Briner, and Monna (Donald Grow) Henry; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bobbi Harbecke. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter and son-law Tammy (Mike) Jones; a brother, Jimmy; and a sister, Margie.
