Alice L. Meeker

Alice Lorraine Meeker, 76, of Zenda, Wisconsin, formerly of Bellevue, passed away Tuesday, June 12th, 2007 at Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Alice was born December 6th, 1930 in Taft, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Merele and Dorothy (Westby) McCartney. She grew up in Taylor County Wisconsin and attended and graduated from Gilman High School. Later in life she moved to Bellevue. She babysat and worked for Ensign Coil in Bellevue and met and married Marvin Cecil Meeker. They moved to Dubuque where they worked for many years. She was a custodian for the Dubuque School System. Later they moved to Colorado where they operated a rest home for the elderly as well as operating a family restaurant. From Colorado she moved to Walworth, Wisconsin to live with her son, daughter-in-law and her grandchildren. Survivors include, her son Samuel Marvin Meeker and his wife Regina; their children, Samuel Jr. and Jessika; step daughter, LaDonna Brauhn and her husband Donald, their children, Molly and Meghan; step daughter, Debbie Blomberg and her husband Tory and their children Jennifer and April; one brother, Ellsworth (Dorothy) McCartney, Clinton and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son and one sister. Funeral Services will held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 15th, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue. The Rev. Dr. Marsha M. Wilfong will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, from 5-7 PM and at the Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church.
