Alvina R. Stillmunkes, 89, of Bellevue, passed away, Monday evening, June 5th, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, in Springbrook. Visitation for Alvina will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue and again Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church in Springbrook.Alvina was born the fourth child of twelve on July 19th, 1927 at the family farm south of Springbrook, daughter of Matthew and Julia (Kilburg) Michel. She married Eldon Stillmunkes on November 26,1947 in Springbrook. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1985.Alvina lived on a farm most of her life. She truly enjoyed being a farmers wife. Even after her children took over the farm, she followed the markets daily. Alvina was a considerate woman, who never wanted to be a bother to others, but also wasnt afraid to voice her opinion. She felt it was her duty to feed anyone who stopped by. Alvina was an excellent cook as well as a baker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling and dancing. Alvina took a great interest in her family and loved every moment she spent with them. She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Mary Ann Schwager, of Dubuque, Patricia (Ken) Sattizahn, of Columbia, Missouri, Dale (Deb) Stillmunkes, of Bellevue, Dean (Diane) Stillmunkes, of Asbury, Leon (Marcia) Stillmunkes, of Bellevue, and Loras Stillmunkes, of Preston; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and eight siblings, Alverda Heiar, Helen Zeimet, Marian Kloft, Arlene Hager, Bernadine Hartung, Donald Michel, Bernard Bun (Darlene) Michel and Carma (Lloyd) Frank.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eldon; son in-law, Arnie Schwager; daughter in-law, Patsy; two sisters, Dolores Heiar and Sr. Mary Matthews; and brother, Herman Michel.The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Manor and Mercy Medical Center for the special care and compassion shown to Alvina.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Alvinas name.Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hachmannfuneralhome.com.
