Kohlenberg on September 16, 1937 at St. John Lutheran Church in St. Donatus. They celebrated their 71st anniversary in 2008. He passed away January 28, 2009. Arlene was a loyal and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a selfless individual, always thankful for what she had, and truly the essence of grace. She and her husband, Lawrence farmed in rural Bellevue for 71 years. She was at her best when she did for others; she was the epitome of thoughtfulness and consideration. Nature fed her soul, she thoroughly enjoyed feeding the birds, taking care of her cats and tending her beloved garden and flowers. Her faith in the Lord and her church were extremely important to her. She was involved in many organizations, groups and ministries within St. John Lutheran Church. Though Quiet, she had a competitive side to her in playing cards and watching her beloved Chicago Cubs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Joann Kasik, of Asbury, Lynn (Eileen) Kohlenberg, of Bellevue, and Jeanette (Jim) Jamieson, of Plymouth, MA.; sister in-law, Verna Fiedler, of Anamosa, Iowa; grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Kasik, of Mechanicsville, Iowa, Phil Kasik and Chad (Meghan) Kohlenberg, both of Dubuque; three great-grandchildren, Scout, Cortlyn and Averee Kasik, of Mechanicsville; three step grandchildren, Kimberly Jamieson, of Long Island, NY, Kathleen Gargano, of Marshfield Hills, MA, and James Jamieson Jr., of Hudson, MA.; two step great-grandchildren, Landon Cahill, currently serving in Afghanistan and Robert James Gargano, of Marshfield, MA; three nieces, Carol Schardt, of Calabasas, CA, Sarah (Bill) Thorn, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Marge Felderman, of Bellevue.
