Arnold Kueter, 89, of Bellevue, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 after a short illness. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Bellevue with the Very Rev. Phillip Kruse officiating with Very Rev. Bernard Grady, a friend of the family, concelebrating the Mass and delivering the homily. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Bellevue. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, at Hachmann Funeral Home, Bellevue and beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary in St. Josephs Church at 10:00 a.m. prior to the 10:30 funeral Mass. Arnold Kueter was born on December 3, 1920, in Bellevue, son of Joe and Anna (Soppe) Kueter. He graduated from St. Josephs School in Bellevue. He married Bernice Till on August 21, 1941 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Bellevue; she preceded him in death on December 17, 2005. They were married 64 years. Arnold was a farmer and businessman in Bellevue, retiring in the late 1970s. He was a devoted husband and caregiver for his wife for many years during her illness. During his business years he was an accomplished and successful leader earning several awards and recognitions from Nutrena and Pillsbury Feeds, Pioneer Seed Corn, Red Jacket Pumps, and Green Colonial Furnace Company. Following several years of farming accompanied with a few years as a factory worker with Clinton Engine and John Deere, he purchased Bellevue Gas and Stove from his Father-in-law Tony F. Till and renamed the business Front Street Feeds. After Retirement Arnie was employed at the Bellevue Golf Club as Clubhouse Manager. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and wood working. Arnold was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Arnold is survived by his three children: Roger (Barbara) Kueter of Cedar Falls, Diana (Tony) Muenster and Gail (Greg) Michels of Bellevue. Nine Grandchildren, Kelly (Bill) Flege, Dan (Diana) Kueter, Sarah (Pat) Tierney, Mike (Julie) Muenster, Kerry (James) Doepke, Sheila (Gary) Moldenhauer, Kim (Eric) Schroeder, April (Rob) Lessnau, and Aaron Michels; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Loretta Till Reistroffer and Verna Kueter. Arnold was preceded in death by four brothers (Ben, Leo, Victor, Harold) and two sisters (Mildred Frank and Fran Eggers).
