Arthur Ploessl, 71, of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am, Monday morning at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue, Iowa. A visitation for Art will be from 2:00 to 5:00pm, Sunday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Monday morning after 9:00am, at the funeral home. Art was born November 9, 1943, in Bellevue, Iowa, the son of Albert and Alvina (Heying) Ploessl. He married Rosalie Ries on November 30, 1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Art worked for John Deere Dubuque Works for over 30 years. Through the years he also worked part time at the Dubuque Pack and Kalmes Feed Store. Art was hard working, layed back and loved to talk with people. Art enjoyed cooking, grilling, golfing and watching his favorite teams, the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes. But most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events. Arts grandchildren meant the world to him, he was more than just a Papa, and he enjoyed every minute he spent with them. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 51 years, Rosalie, of Bellevue; son, Rick ( Laurie) Ploessl, of Argyle, WI; daughter Lori (Mark) Heiar, of Bellevue; grandchildren, Amber, Dustin, Colton, and Jakob Ploessl, and Miranda and Travis Heiar; great grandchildren Selena and Arianna; brothers Cyril (Marilyn), of Bellevue, Sylvester (Wilma) of Dubuque, Larry (Linda) of Farley: and sisters Ruth (Harold) Ambrosy of Dubuque, Helen (Windy) Kalmes of St. Donatus, and Mary Lou Heinricy, of Dubuque. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Judy Nemmers, mother and father in-law Katie and Melvin Ries, and grandchildren Justin and Anne Heiar, and Lindsay Ploessl.
