Barbara M. Keil, 66, of Bellevue, passed away, Monday evening, July 31, 2017 at her home in Bellevue. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 4 at St. John Lutheran Church in St. Donatus. Burial will take place in the First Presbyterian Cemetery, Bellevue. Visitation for Barb will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue and again Friday morning from 9:30-10:30a.m. at the church in St. Donatus.Barb was born on June 30, 1951 in Bellevue, the daughter of Carlton and Garland (Gaylor) Reed. She married Jim Keil on May 22, 1972Barb was born the youngest of four and grew up on the family farm. She met her true love at a Fourth of July teen dance and they began their beautiful forty-five year marriage shortly thereafter. Together they raised three children who adored them greatly. While her family was young Barb worked as the Church Secretary at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bellevue. When her children grew older, Barb went to work at Rockwell Collins where she became a supervisor and made many friends.Barb was a competitive and talented person who enjoyed golfing in womens league, playing cards with her friends and challenging her family in ping pong. She also loved playing the piano and riding her bike. As her health changed later in life she took great enjoyment boating and being on the river with her husband and friends. Above all else Barb loved being around her family where she provided compassion, guidance and a witty sense of humor. Those left to honor her memory include her husband Jim Keil, of 45 years; three children, Jennifer Keil, of Dubuque, David (Kristin) Keil, of Arlington Heights and Andrew (Kimberley) Keil, of Bellevue; four grandchildren, Jacob, Rachel, Lauren and Zachary; two brothers, Max (Mary) Reed and Gordon (Marie) Reed.Barb was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Ross Reed.
