Beverly J. Grable, 79, of Bellevue, died, Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Maquoketa. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again, Saturday at church from 9:30 until service time. Beverly Miller was born on August 13, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska, daughter of Gerald and Thelma (Waugh) Miller. She married Robert J. Grable on December 26, 1948. She was a teacher most of her life. She began teaching in Bellevue in 1947. She was married in 1948 to Robert J. Grable and started teaching again in 1955, and taught in the Bellevue School System for 36 years. She had a passion for reading and music. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and its choir. She was also a member of the Community Choir. Surviving are her two sons, David Grable, of St. Donatus, and Mark Grable, of Las Vegas; two daughters, Karen (Dennis) Massey, of Ottumwa, and Maria Hernandez, of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, Kim, Mikol, Jenifer, Aaron, and Christina; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Brayden, Celia, Cynthia, Beto, and Kimberlynn; a brother, Richard Miller, of Betendorf; and four sisters, Marylin Bartee, of Pensicola, FL, Janette Wiggens, of Rock Island, Virginia Schurbon, of Kooskia, Idaho, and Guila Miller, of Milan, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Brian. A Beverly Grable Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their care and compassion.
