Carol Louise Kress Latson

Carol Louise Kress Latson, 61, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Geneva Nursing and Rehab in Geneva, Illinois after a long, heart wrenching battle with Huntingtons. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation for Carol will be held from 11:00 until service time at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Carol was born January 24, 1951 on Essman Island, Guttenberg, Iowa, daughter of Edmund and Laura (Johnston) Kress. She graduated in 1969 from Guttenberg High School. After high school, Carol attended the University of Iowa. While visiting a friend in Chicago Carol met her future husband Frank Latson, Sr. Carol was a computer operator for Western Textile in Chicago for over 16 years. She was a very special, loving, courageous and strong woman with a deep sense of family. Her family meant everything to her; she was the family genealogist. She was also creative, had a great memory, and loved to read and dance. Carol was very generous with her time and an extremely devoted mother and grandmother. Her ability to understand, embrace and overcome adversity was an inspiration to others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Those left to honor her memory include her four children, Becky Mulder, of Tempe, Arizona, Frank Latson Jr., Latonya (David Griffith) Latson, and Gregory Bryan Latson, all of Aurora, Illinois; five grandchildren; ten siblings, Wanda Kress, Willie Kress, Don Kress, Vi Jennings, Bob Kress, Sue Kress, Linda Hertenstein, Rosaleta (Lynn) Heins, Ed Kress Jr., and Kathy (Kyle) Wander; a sister in-law, Rita Kress; and former husband Frank Latson Sr. Carol is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carl and Wayne; sister in-law, Susie Kress; and niece, Lindsey Steward.
