Cheryl J. Taylor-Homis, 76, of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024. No Public Services will be conducted per her wishes.

Cheryl was born, March 3, 1948 in Kansas City, the daughter of Eugene F. Taylor and Verna M. Penrod. She worked as a switch board operator, road construction at O’Hara International Airport, and waitress at a variety of restaurants. Cheryl moved to Iowa, and owned and operated TC Homestead in Bellevue wit her husband, Tony, did taxes at H&R Block, and was a at home caregiver. She enjoyed cooking, playing board games, boating on the river, knitting, playing cards, and family gatherings. She married Anthony “Tony” Homis, Jr. on June 27, 1992.
Survivors include her husband, Tony; children, John (Debbie) Sawicki, Jennifer (Rodney) Sawicki-Dodds, Michael (Nury) Jones, and Mark Jones; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren (one expecting); a sister, Linda (Frank) Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Verna M. Davis; step-fathers, Dick Larrick and Robert Davis; a sister, Diana Curry; father and mother in-law, Anthony and Marie Homis, Sr.
