Cora Corky Still, 75, of Bellevue, passed away, Saturday morning, March 19, 2016, in Bellevue, with her daughter at her side. A Christian Funeral Service for Corky will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday morning, March 30 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. A visitation will be from 5:00 7:00pm, Tuesday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and also Wednesday morning for an hour prior to the service at the church. Cora Rupe was born February 23, 1941 in Drakesville, Iowa, the daughter of Dale and Sylvia (Clark) Rupe. She married Arlyn Still on June 12, 1960 at Finely Avenue Baptist Church in Ottumwa, Iowa. Corky grew up in Ottumwa, after graduation she attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. She taught elementary school in Auburn, Iowa and also helped her husband through the years with various high school bands as the Color Guard Director. Corky had many jobs and experiences throughout her life. Besides education, she worked for Grinnell Mutual Insurance Company, was bookkeeper for the feed store in Miles and Preston. Later Cora and Arlyn owned and operated Main Street Sweets, in West Branch, Iowa. After retirement, Corky and Arlyn spent their winters in Texas as hosts at many camping parks and spent summers as Work Campers at Adventureland, in Altoona, Iowa. Corky carried a positive attitude. She was strong, giving and always put others needs ahead of her own. She was creative and enjoyed crafting. Corky and Arlyn had a great life together, they raised two children and treasured time spent with family. Over the past few years, Corkys proudest and most joyous moments have been spent with her grandson, Kannon. She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Denise Still, of College Station, Texas; son Doug Lee (Gemma) Still, of Bellevue; grandson Kannon Lee Still; and siblings, Helen Davis, Max (Shirley) Rupe and Mary Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
