Dale R. Meier

Dale R. “2 dogs” Meier, 71, of Bellevue, parked his equipment in the shed on Sunday, December 22, 2024 and closed the doors to start a new journey. 

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Friday, December 27, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. Wake Service will be 3:30 pm, Thursday, December 26, 2024 with visitation until 7:00 pm, at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, additional visitation will be 9:00 am – 10:00 am prior to Mass at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.

Dale was born on April 29, 1953 in Bellevue, the son of Robert E. and Marilyn J. (Schurbon) Meier. He graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1971. He worked for John Deere Works Dubuque until retiring in 2010. Dale also farmed all his life. He was a plain old farmer and enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with his family and friends. He married Barb Ament on September 10, 2010. Dale was Past President and a member of Fritz Chapel for 40 years, served on Bellevue Ambulance, and a dedicated member of the Bellevue Centennial Lions Club.

Dale is survived by his family and many close friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Donald “Donny” Meier.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dale’s memory.
