Daniel L. Sieverding, 76, of Bellevue, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 12, 2024.To honor Dan’s life, a wake service will begin at 2:30 pm with visitation to continue until 6:30 pm on Monday, December 16, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, Iowa. Additional visitation will be 9:00 am – 10:00 am, prior to Mass on Tuesday at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, Iowa.Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, Iowa. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue, Iowa.Dan was born March 10, 1948 in Bellevue, Iowa, the son of Cletus and Clara (Till) Sieverding. Dan married Mary Ann Skoff on September 5, 1970 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sugar Creek, Iowa. Together they raised three children. In 1976, Dan and his brother Glenn formed Sieverding Construction. He was a selfless and hardworking man who took great pride in his work, and would graciously lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed daily coffee breaks and quality time with his siblings. Dan loved music and played the trumpet with his dad, brothers, and brother in-law in the family band known as The Paradise Kings, which later became known as the Sieverding Band. He enjoyed playing in Polka Masses and at the community jam. He also liked to spend time gardening, relaxing with family on the porch swing, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Dan cherished time with family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was an avid supporter of his grandchildren’s activities and continually reminded them to “always be humble and kind.”Dan was a Knights of Columbus member for 55 years and served on the parish council.Those left to cherish Dan’s memory include his wife, Mary (Skoff) Sieverding; children, Julie (Randy) Koos, Jeff Sieverding, and Jill (Brandon) Beck; grandchildren, Ashley Koos (Andrew White), Daniel Koos, Kaylee Koos, and Carter Beck.He is also survived by his sister, Alice Kilburg, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave Sieverding, Glenn Sieverding, Mark (Sherri) Sieverding, Darlene Sieverding, Darla Sieverding, Donna Sieverding, Darlene (J.C.) Cox, Linda (Dennis) Hahn, Tom (Barb) Skoff, Debra Skoff, and special cousin-in-law, Gloria Schrader; and numerous nieces and nephews.Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Clara Sieverding; father and mother-in-law, Verl (Skeeter) and Rosemary Skoff; his siblings and in-laws, Marilyn (Virtus) Clasen, Lorin Kilburg, Cletus “Ham” (Phyllis and Betty) Sieverding, Lorin “Butch” Sieverding, Norma Sieverding, Tom Sieverding, Shirley Sieverding, Don Sieverding, and Karen Sieverding; special cousins-in-law, Don (Bev) Skoff, and Kenny Schrader; and his infant granddaughters, Allison and Kaitlin Koos.The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mercy Hospital in Dubuque for their kindness and care, with a special thanks to Dr. Ramabadran.A memorial fund has been established in Dan’s memory.Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.hachmannfuneralhome.com
