Dennis Albert Walgamuth 71, of Bellevue, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at his home. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation for Dennis will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Wednesday morning after 9:30 at the church. Dennis was born April 16, 1939 in Minneapolis MN, the son of Elton and Ann (Usemann) Walgamuth. He married Susan Schnee in 1959; He married Diane Kujath on June 9, 1978 in Minneapolis MN. Dennis spent the early part of his life in the Minneapolis area. He entered the United States Coast Guard in 1956 and served until 1958. He moved to Bellevue and was employed with John Deere Dubuque Works for over 31 years, retiring in 1990. Dennis was proud of and extremely active in the Bellevue Community. He was one of the founding members of the Bellevue Ambulance Service, involved with first Annual Heritage Day Committee, was an active member of the JCs and later Community Club, and was a charter member of the Bellevue Golf Club. He enjoyed all sports and especially watching his grandchildrens sporting events. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Diane Walgamuth, of Bellevue; son Dennis (Linda), of Bellevue; two daughters, Debbie (Brian) Stransky, of Eagan, Minnesota, and Pam Walgamuth, of Dubuque; Five grandchildren, Neil, Colin, Hope, Steven, and Beau; and sister, Mary Nelson, of Lakeville, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters Gen Hentges, and Dorothy Chedester. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Jackson County, Dr. Herman and Tony Heiar, for the care and compassion shown to Dennis.
