Donald R. Carrier

Donald R. Carrier, 75, of Bellevue, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 14, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation for Don will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time also at the funeral home. Donald was born August 22, 1938, in Marengo, Iowa, son of Ira Eugene and Caroline Corinne (Kurth) Carrier. He married Janet Wardenburg on January 4, 1964 in Iowa City, Iowa. Don served the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959. He was a park ranger for over 32 years, he served in Muscatine, Clear Lake and Bellevue. Don was a well liked person who possessed a great sense of humor. He was outgoing and very proud. Don enjoyed hunting, tinkering in the garage and sitting on his porch with his beloved dog Beau. He had a passion for being out on the river fishing. Don will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 49 years, Janet, of Bellevue; son Curtis (Kristy) Carrier, of Bellevue; daughter Catherine Carrier of Bellevue, Nebraska; six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
