Donald E. Felderman, 87 of Bellevue, IA passed away on Sunday morning, August 7, 2016 at Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque. A Christian funeral Service will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, August 11, at First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue. Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery. Visitation for Don will be from 3:00 to 7:00pm. Wednesday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue and again Thursday morning after 9:00am at the church. Donald was born August 4, 1929 in Washington Township, Iowa, son of Elmer and Frieda (Mohlenhoff) Felderman. He married Mary Sulzner on June 18, 1950 in St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Don graduated from Bellevue High School in 1946 at the age of sixteen. He served the United States Army during the Korean conflict in Germany. Don never attended college, but he worked on many engineering projects through the years and ran successful businesses. He farmed, owned and operated Felderman Construction and Valley View Mobile Home Park in Bellevue. He was proud of his work and built many relationships over the years. He was also proud of providing many Bellevue families with affordable housing. Don was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and was chairman of the building committee that overseen the large educational addition to the church in1976. He was involved in the community and truly loved living in Bellevue. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 51 and the American Legion Post 273. Don was a driven man with a good heart, he will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 66 years, Mary Felderman, of Bellevue, two children, Mark (Rebecca) Felderman, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Anne (William) Logemann, of Bellevue; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a brother, Willard (Donna) Felderman, of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Timonthy Bottorff, and two brothers, Marvin and Robert. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Bellevue Ambulance, the staff at Stonehill Care Center and most of all his in-home care takers Sherri, Kathy, Alisha, Diane, Jane and Tammy, for all the care and compassion shown to Don.
