Dorothy R. Van Drew, 82, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Wyndcrest Nursing Home in Clinton. Dorothy was born August 1st, 1925, in Battle Creek, Iowa, daughter of the late Frank D. and Anna M. (Hotz) Janssen. She married Charles F. Van Drew November 19th, 1942 in Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death. Dorothy worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company and G. E. for several years before retiring in 1982. She also worked for Maudes Eatery in Clinton and owned and operated Vans Grocery Store in Albany with her husband Charles. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a charter member of both the Tri-township Heritage board and the Bi-Centennial Committee All of Albany and the Ladies of the Elks in Sterling. Survivors include her children, Roger (Melissa) Van Drew, Chadwick, IL, Paula (Russell) Widener, Tucson, AZ Julie (Alan) Dalton, Rockford, IL Bruce (Melody) Van Drew, Fulton, Scot (Bonnie) Van Drew, Rapid City, SD; 14 grandchildren four step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband Charles, she was preceded by one brother and three sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 12th, 2008, at The Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel in Clinton. Interment will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
