Dorothy Marie. Remakel, 90, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Mill Valley in Bellevue. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, January 24, 2013, at Hachmann Funeral Home in Bellevue. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for Dorothy will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again on Thursday morning after 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home until service time. Dorothy was born on September 2, 1922 in Manchester, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Nellie (Thomas) Sulzner. She married Richard Remakel on June 6, 1942 in Bellevue. He passed away March 31, 1986. Dorothy owned and operated the Sweet Shoppe for over 11 years. She was very giving and always willing to help anyone in need. Dorothy also volunteered at St. Joseph School for several years, serving hot lunch or helping where ever she was needed and also volunteered for many organizations in the Bellevue Community. Dorothy and her husband enjoyed wintering in Phoenix, Arizona. She also enjoyed playing cards, she belonged to a Canasta Club in Bellevue for many years. Dorothy was a wonderful mother and will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her two sons, Richard J. (Heidi), of Phoenix, Arizona, and James M., of Bellevue; three grandchildren, Jennifer Remakel, Jeff (Michelle) Remakel and Kathy Remakel; and sister, Mary (Donald) Felderman, of Bellevue.
