Dorothy Smith

Dorothy E. Smith, 88 of Bellevue, died on February 6, 2009, at Mill Valley Care Center, in Bellevue, Iowa. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue, officiated by Pastor Paul Gammelin. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again Tuesday at the Church from 9:30 until time of service. Dorothy was born February 20, 1920 in Riggs Iowa; she is the daughter of Irvin and Annie (Steffy) Tracy. Dorothy was a baby sitter and worked in the kitchen at Bellevue Community School for over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling and volunteering Dorothy married Alvin Jensen on May 18, 1939 in Preston Iowa. He died on May 25, 1977. She later married Albert Smith on November 3, 1984. He died on January 17, 1991. Surviving are one daughter Jean (Milton) Duff of Seymour Mo, one son Jeff (Karen) Jensen of Cuba City, Wi. Seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister Maxine Schmidt of Monticello, Ia She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son Jerry in 1998, four grandchildren Jason, Jeremy, Ann, and Brian Jensen in 1992, two brothers and five sisters.
