Dorothy E. Weinschenk, 79 of Bellevue, peacefully joined her husband in heaven, Saturday, December 03, 2011 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue, surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 7 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Bellevue. Fr. Phil Gibbs will officiate and Rev. Phillip Kruse will con-celebrate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday Evening, at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 until procession to the church. Dorothy was born on May 25, 1932 in LaMotte, daughter of Edmund and Gertrude (Etringer) Gibbs. She married Clifford Weinschenk on August 28, 1951 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaMotte, Cliff passed away on August 31, 2008. Dorothy and her sister Algean owned and operated Flower Lane together in Bellevue for 27 years. She also served hot lunch at St. Josephs School for many years. Dorothy and her husband Cliff enjoyed traveling. They also were members of the BES club. Dorothy had a special smile for everyone. She was independent and always on the go. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed crafting, sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed her therapy day with the penny slot machine in Dubuque. Her family meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed by all. Surviving are her six children, Gary (Michele) Weinschenk, of Springville, Iowa, Peg (Steve) Roling, of Bellevue, Jean Ehlinger, of Bellevue, Jim (Kim) Weinschenk, of St. Catherines, Cliff Jr. Weinschenk, of Bellevue, and Barb (Brian) Kalmes, of Bellevue; fourteen grandchildren, Kirsten (Troy Use`), Kasey (Nick Carlson), and Kylie Weinschenk, Ryan (Ealana Tigges) and Michael (Audrey) Roling, Christina (Mitch) Hoffmann, Sara (Peter) Hyun, Stacey (Jordan Palus) and Scott (Hope Harm) Ehlinger, Chad (Lindsay) Weinschenk, Kurt and Ben Weinschenk, Austin and Justine Kalmes; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Tait, Gavin, Anna and Conner; four brothers, Harold (Joyce), Ed (Karen), Larry (Carolyn), Steve (Mary); two sisters, Mary Cheney and Algean Budde; and two sisters in-law Rosella and Irma Gibbs. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Lloyd and Donald.
