Dwaine W. Feltes, 87, of Dubuque, formerly of Bellevue, passed away Monday afternoon, April 23, 2012 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Private Family Services will be held at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Rev. Fr. Phillip Kruse will preside. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #273. Dwaine was born on January 15, 1925 in Bellevue, son of George and Margaret (Pleiser) Feltes. He married Mabel Meyer, on October 16, 1950 in St. Marys Catholic Church in Dubuque. Dwaine served three years in the United States Navy during WWII. He was employed at the Gibson Corp. in Bellevue, Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, and John Deere in Dubuque for 25 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #273, all in Bellevue. He loved woodworking, dancing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his six children, John Feltes, of Phoenix, Arizona, Jim (Sharon) Feltes, of Burnt Hills, New York, Joe (Julia) Feltes, of Dubuque, Jane (David) Wills, of Galena, Illinois, Jerry (Linda Brown) Feltes, of Bellevue, and Jay Feltes, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two daughters in-law, Nancy Feltes and Shontele Orr. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Nathalie McHenry. The family would like to express deep appreciation to Dr. Martin Bagby, Dr. Brian Nelson, Joe Mcintire and the staff of Stonehill Franciscan Services for the great care and compassion shown to Dwaine.
