Edward Allan Rentz

Edward Allen Rentz, 59, of Clinton, died Thursday, December 2nd at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 5, at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton. Hachmann Funeral Home and Lemke Funeral Home are assisting the family with arrangements. Visitation for Ed will be held from 4:00 6:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the Funeral Service at the funeral home. Ed was born December 14, 1950 in Clinton, son of Andrew and Margaret (Van Buskirk) Rentz. He married Wanda Ludovissy in 1973. He was enlisted in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the AMVETS and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed boating, bowling, playing the lottery, drinking coffee and watching football. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his three sons, Chad (Sarah), of Bellevue, Iowa, Corey (Rebecca), of Wauconda, Illinois, and Chip, of Des Plaines, Illinois; three grandchildren Jacob, Dillon, and Nathan; siblings, Shirley Shontos, Ronald Rentz, Robert (Kim) Rentz, Mary Dohse and Gary Rentz; ex wife, Wanda Giddings and a special friend, Connie Boles. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been establish in Eds Name. The family would like to give a special thank you to nurses and staff at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for all their love, care and friendship in his last days.
