January 21, 2007 Edwin Fischer, 85, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, January 21st, 2007 at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Edwin was born September 1st, 1921, in Artas, South Dakota, son of the late Andrew and Katherine (Boehler) Fischer. He married Florence May Pfiefer on February 14th, 1943 in Zeeland, North Dakota. She survives. Edwin was an agent/operator for the Milwaukee Railroad which later became the Soo Line Railroad. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army during World War II being based in Okinawa, Japan. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the Bellevue American Legion Post 273. He also was a member of the Barbershoppers of Sheldon Iowa. He enjoyed Dancing and music, bowling and golf as well as bingo. Besides his wife, Florence Fischer, Bellevue he is survived by one daughter, Vivian (John) Pitlo, Bellevue and one sister, Irene Heiser of Washington. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two infant sons and three brothers, Reuben, Elmer and Art Fischer. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 at the Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue. Rev.Dr. Marsha M. Wilfong will officiate.
