Fay L. Ohlert, 80, of Andrew, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at his home in Andrew, Iowa. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. John Retreat Center Rickert Lodge in Bellevue. Friends may visit an hour prior to the service also at the Lodge. Graveside services will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #273. Arrangements are being handled by Hachmann Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Fay was born on June 9, 1933 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, son of Casper Francis and Ada Odessa (Brogley) Ohlert. He married Joyce Stanton in 1958, they later divorced. Fay graduated from University of Wisconsin - Platteville where he earned a Masters Degree in Vocational Agricultural Studies. He was an FFA instructor, taught Biology, Science and Agriculture in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Iowa, retiring in 1982. Those left to honor his memory include his three children, Jace (Kathy) Ohlert, of Bellevue, Craig (Shera) Ohlert, of Webster City, Iowa and Lora (Todd) Eggert, of Bennett, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and three sisters, Annabelle Brunton, Madge Noyse, and Josie Flesch.
