George H. Yasuda, 92 of Bellevue, Iowa, formerly of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Services will be at 1:00 a.m., Monday, December 21 at Boothby Funeral Home, Cherokee. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held. Monday after 10:00 until the start of Service at the funeral home. George was born on March 4, 1917 in Kimberly, Idaho, son of Yoshitaro and Yasuke (Miki) Yasuda. He married Henrietta Borrink on October 12, 1957 in Cherokee, Iowa, she passed away on February 16, 1985. George worked as a Poultry Technician in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, retiring in 1988. George was an outgoing, caring and gentle man who will be deeply missed. He was an avid golfer, and spent most of his free time on the golf course. Surviving are his stepson, Ronald Johnston, of Bellevue, Iowa; two step daughters, Martheda Dirksen, of Rapid City, South Dakota and Dee (Gordy) Engen, of Clear Lake, South Dakota; six grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother Tommy (Norma) Yasuda, of Royce, Utah; two sisters, Lily (Ralph) Shimto and Mardi (Shig) Motoki, both of Salt Lake City, Utah, brother in-law Wally Nagao, of Honolulu Hawaii He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pris Nagao.
