Glen C. Miller, 86, of Clinton, and formerly of Long Grove, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Eagle Point Nursing Center. As per his request cremation rites have been accorded. Glen was born August 16, 1921 in Orafino, Nebraska, the son of Harvey and Golda Mae (Clark) Miller. On October 26, 1940, he married the former Betty Browne in Lancaster, Missouri. He was employed by Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf for 38 years, and was also an independent milk hauler delivering to Sanitary Dairy and Elmwood Dairy. Glen was a veteran of the US Army. Glen was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener, and was noted for his flowers and his fudge. Surviving are his wife Betty; daughters, Beverly (Donald Price) Miller of Clinton, Janice (Edwin) Wright of Fulton, Ellen (David) Schoo of Clinton, and Tamara King of Washington, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Payne of Hernando, Mississippi; a brother, Ross (Rose) Miller of Weaverville, NC; and his best friend, Bob West of LeClaire, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a grandson Cory Rutledge. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.
