Gloria A. (Dottie) Sturm, 86, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Bellevue. A Catholic Funeral Rite (not a Mass) will be at held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Private burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Hachmann Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bellevue. Dottie was born on October 29, 1929, in Bellevue, daughter of Lloyd and Lola (Leonard) Keil. She married Vincent J. Sturm on February 21, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. They were married for 37 years. Vincent passed away on July 16, 1987. Dottie graduated from St. Joseph High School class of 1948 and worked in Bellevue her whole life, as a medical receptionist, a florist, a cashier, a factory worker, and as bookkeeper at Sturms Stockyards, staying in business even after Vincents death. Dottie enjoyed reading, shopping, planting flowers, cooking, and baking. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Jackie (Phil) Roling, of Eldridge, Iowa, son Steve (Kathy) Sturm, of Dubuque, daughter in-law Karen Sturm, of Bellevue, and daughter Carla (Gary) Corbett, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, James Keil, of Bellevue, and Dave (Mary) Keil, of Dyersville; and two sisters in-law, Mary Sturm and Janet Keil, both of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Joel Sturm; sister, Judy Ernst; brother, Lloyd Bud Keil; and five brothers in-law and five sisters in-law. The family would like to express gratitude to Hospice of Jackson County for their care and compassion.
