Grace M. (Putman) Steines, 91, of Bellevue, IA, died Saturday morning, November 13th at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 18, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Visitation for Grace will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Thursday morning after 9:00 until procession to the church. Grace Putman was born December 31, 1918 in Bellevue, IA, daughter of John and Anna (Lintgen) Putman. She married Marcus McManus and later Walter Steines, they both precede her in death. Gracie was a hard worker and held many jobs throughout the years. She farmed with her husband, was employed with Montgomery Wards, Savanna Army Depot, Clinton Engines, Putmans Fish Market and Steines Tavern. She enjoyed taking care of and spending time with family and had a passion for animals. She was fun, loving, generous, and always there for others. She had a special mother-like relationship to Yolanda, Doug, Tony and Kayla Griebel and Rick Putman. She will be truly missed. Surviving are her two sisters, Irene (Putman) Steines and Betty (Putman) Budde, both of Bellevue, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers Floyd, John, Richard, Raymond, and David Putman; and three sisters, Dorothy Babcock, Myrtle Michaels, and Margaret Hall. The family would like to give a special thanks to Katie Feltes, Danah Berthel, and Amber Nemmers for their care and compassion shown to Gracie this past year.
