Hilda F. Melton, 96, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Hilda will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again on Tuesday morning after 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Hilda was born on October 4, 1915 in Devon, Montana, daughter of Henry and Nellie (Enos) Braun. She married Raymond B. Melton on May 31, 1937, he passed away January 9, 1984. Hilda was employed with the Big D Super Value and Bellevue State Bank for many years. She was gentle, easygoing and giving. Hilda was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Navy Mothers and a Cub Scout Den Leader. Hilda always said she was the happiest in the kitchen cooking and baking. She enjoyed playing cards with her card club, traveling and spending time with family. She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her four sons, Dan (Jane), of Bellevue, Bill (Linda), of Cherry Valley, Illinois, Chuck (Andrea), of Omro, Wisconsin, and Jeff Herm (Sherie), of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers George and Harry; and four sisters, Agnes, Jenny, Helen and Marian.
