Janet Steines

Janet A. Steines, 60, of Springbrook, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 9, at 10:30 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Janet will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and again Friday morning after 9:00 until the start of service at the church. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday following the visitation at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Janet was born March 22, 1950 in Clinton, the daughter of Milo and Arlene (Miller) Feller. She married Mardell Steines on October 11, 1969 in Preston. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was extremely spiritual and giving, always putting others before her self. She was much more than a homemaker; she helped Mardell in all aspects of their farming operation. She enjoyed horses, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. Janet was an active member and organist of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Family was truly Janets passion; she loved to devote her time to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Janet will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 40 years, Mardell, of Springbrook; two sons, Kevin (Jennifer), of Dubuque and Craig, of Bellevue; two grandchildren, Keegan and Aubree; her parents, Milo and Arlene, of Preston; two brothers, Jim (Gail) Feller, of Preston, Jeff (Linda) Feller, of Bettendorf; two sisters, Brenda Feller, of Savanna, Illinois and Betty (Rick) Petersen, of Preston; and a sister in-law, Carol Scott Feller, of Bellevue.
