Jeannie Theresa Keane

Jeannie Theresa Keane, 82, of Stonehill, formerly of Kansas, and Chicago, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 10:15 p.m. Jeannie was born May 26, 1929 and placed in the loving arms of her adopted parents John and Ethel (Wagner) Sake. She grew up in Oak Park, Illinois and Chicago, graduating from Immaculata High School in 1947. She worked in a secretarial pool of a downtown office company where she met the love of her life, John Joseph Keane. They were married on June 24, 1950 at St. Andrews Church in Chicago. In 2000 they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends. Jeannie loved music, played piano and sang. In her younger years Jeannie was active in both the school and church choir and sang for funerals and weddings. She also loved dogs and had several throughout her years. She was primarily a homemaker, on rare occasions working part time in retail. A Celebration of Life for Jeannie will be held Monday, December 19th at The Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Jeannie is survived by five children: Dennis of Illinois; Karen (Steve) Halversen of Florida; Michael (Lynn) Keane of Illinois; John of Kansas; and Teri (Israel) Vargas of Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and special friends Bob and Jo Vorel.
