Jimmy Jim Caldwell, 81, of Bellevue, passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital, in Dubuque, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, September 26, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. A visitation for Jim will be from 10:00 12:00, Saturday morning prior to the service, at the church. Jim was born July 7, 1934 in Waupaca, WI, the son of Clifford and Hazel (Testin) Caldwell. Jim married Marilyn Nordstrom on October 7, 1961 at Grace Lutheran in Elmhurst, Ill. He proudly served in the United States Army. Jim owned and operated Meadows Heating and Air Conditioning in Palatine, Ill for over 30 years. After retiring he and Marilyn moved to Bellevue, Iowa. Jim enjoyed mowing the lawn, golfing, and he especially loved the water and fishing. He had a passion for collecting and restoring Model Ts. Jim was a quiet man with a good sense of humor, and he was always very generous. He will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Caldwell; daughter, Susan Caldwell, of Bellevue; three sisters, Arlene Caldwell, Linda Forseth, and Shirley (Edward) Thompson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Columbus.
