Joan Chisato Sanders, 78, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, May 27th, 2008, at her home in Clinton. Joan was born March 25th, 1930, in Tokyo, Japan. She came to the U.S. in 1952 and became a citizen, which she was extremely proud of. Joan was a packer for International Paper for 28 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, gardening and collecting antiques and baseball cards. She was a volunteer for RSVP in Clinton. Joan was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all she loved her family. Survivors include her four children, Judie (Robert) McCune-Nielsen, of Clinton, Victor (Diana) McCune, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Debi (Joe) Morehead-Crann, of Ankeny, and Deana (Jens) Morehead-Mangelsen, of DeWitt; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother and three sisters all living in Japan. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 31st, 2008, from 1-3 PM at The Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel, 2610 Lincoln Way, Clinton, with a Memorial Service beginning at 3 PM. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the RSVP (Retirement Senior Volunteer Program) in Joans Name.
