Joseph L. Monner, 92 of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 14, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be 8:30 am – 10:30 am prior to Mass on Monday at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Burial with Military Honors conducted by Bellevue American Legion Post #273.
Joe was born August 13, 1932, the son of Wilfred and Laura (Wall) Monner. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Bellevue. Joe served his Country in the US Army from 1953-1955 stationed in Germany for 16 months during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Bellevue American Legion Post #273. Joe worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, later he worked at the Adams Company in Dubuque until retirement.
Joe is survived by his siblings, Yvonnne Budde-Kruser of Dubuque, Patricia Berthel of LaMotte, and John “Pete” (Joyce) Monner of Maquoketa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Monner and Merwin (Shirley) Monner; brothers in-law, Donald Berthel, Richard Budde, and Clarence Kruser; a niece, Denise Nemmers; and a nephew, Gary Lee Budde.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joe’s memory.
