Joyce Darlene Weikum

Joyce Darlene Weikum peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2013, at her home in Bellevue, Iowa. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, April 19, 2013, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Bellevue is in charge of the arrangements. Joyce was born on January 19, 1929 in Minneapolis, daughter of Swedish/Norwegian parents, Albin and Mary (Hanson). She married Frank Weikum in 1950. He passed away in August of 1998. Joyce and Frank lived and worked in Minneapolis, MN. After retirement they moved to their cabin at the lake and wintered in Hawaii and Florida. After Frank passed away, Joyce made her home with her son Bob (Joyce). Little children were her greatest joy. She enjoyed animals, especially her pets, and flowers. She crocheted beautifully and played music by ear. She tried to help people in any way she could and will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Bob (Joyce) Clarin, of Bellevue, and Brian (Marlys) Weikum, granddaughter, Susan; brother, Kenny (Pat); and sister, LaVonne of Minneapolis,MN; nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Gerald.
