LaVonne L. Welsch, 81, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Monday evening, April 8, 2013, at her home in Bellevue surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, April 12, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for LaVonne will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 at the funeral home LaVonne was born on May 6, 1931 in Springbrook, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Florence (Jaynes) Gonner. She married Gregory Welsch on October 18, 1950 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. He passed away on April 10, 1995. LaVonne was a homemaker and also helped her husband with their business, Welsch Oil in Bellevue. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and taking care of her family. LaVonne was a truly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Family was of the upmost importance to her. She enjoyed every second with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was proud of each and every one of them. She kept active golfing, bowling, creating ceramics and catching up with friends. In her earlier years LaVonne and her husband, Greg where members of the BES Club. LaVonne was a special person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Those left to honor her memory include her four daughters, Barb (Ken) Ernst, of DeWitt, Carol (Larry) Feller, of Bellevue, Susan (Roger) Eganhouse, of DeWitt, and Lori (Ron) Thielen, of Bellevue; twelve grandchildren, Mike (Rochelle) Ernst, Scott and Valerie Ernst, Stacy (Chad) Sieverding, Nick, Josh (Ryan) and Chad (Emily Sieverding) Feller, Brooke (Blain) Kulper, Jason and Cassie Eganhouse and Ali and Zach Thielen; and four great grandchildren, Brady, Nora, Hailey and Ashlyn; and sister, Doris (John) Dyas, of Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and granddaughter, Melissa Ernst The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, Medical Associates Drs Jeffery Hunter, Christian Schulties and their staff for the care and concern shown to LaVonne and her family.
