LeMay E. “Lee” (Glunz) Paulsen, 78, of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, additional visitation will be 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Wednesday prior to Mass at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.
Lee was born March 11, 1946, the daughter of John F. and LeClaire (Carter) Glunz. She graduated from Preston High School in 1964. Lee married Robert Paulsen on July 8, 1967. She was a nurse for Finley Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, Mill Valley Care Center, and for 20 years before retiring in 2003 she was a nurse at Medical Associates in Bellevue. Lee always had her home open for anyone, enjoyed traveling to every State, a good laugh, visiting with people and patients, and being with her grandchildren. She participated in CEW’s, attending weekly Mass, and reading her daily devotions and prayers. Lee was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; children, Lisa Schroeder , and Marc (Jose) Paulsen; a son in-law, Jeff Schroeder; grandchildren, Aryelle (Cody) Decker, Alyx (Adam Vass) Schroeder, and Jake Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Silas, Mayla, and Tilly Decker ; siblings, Jan Bahnsen, Mary Wisor, Joy (Lyle) Knutsen; brothers in-law, Jim Weiland and Dale Paulsen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Dianne Weiland; brothers in-law, Bernie Bahnsen, and Donald Wisor.
A memorial fund has been established in Lee’s memory.
