Leo W. Meier, 91, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008, at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Leo was born October 7th, 1916, in Bellevue, son of the late Edward and Frances (Fens) Meier. He married Mavis Sprank on September 5th, 1945, in Bellevue. She preceded him in death in 1994. Leo was a farmer and proud to have served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was a member of the Bellevue American Legion Post 273. Survivors include four sons, James (Dorothy), Mark, Lynn, Kevin (Karla) Meier, all of Bellevue; eight grandchildren; one brother, Maynard (Yvonne) Meier, Bellevue; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Meier, Bellevue. Besides his parents and loving wife, Mavis (Sprank) Meier, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Meier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Friday, September 26th, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. The Rev. Fr. Stephen Meyer will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 PM at The Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Friday from 9:30 10:15 AM.
