Lisa M. (Connelly) Kalmes

Lisa M. (Connelly) Kalmes, 63, of Bellevue, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Memorial Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, March 25, 2024 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue.

Lisa was born, September 6th, 1960, in Dubuque, the daughter of Wilfred and Wanda (Fesler) Connelly. She graduated from Bellevue High School. Lisa most recently worked at Kalmes Restaurant and Richman’s Cafe. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

It is said that humor can be added to this if it fits the person being honored. It not only fits, but is the foundation of how Lisa lived, loved, and shared her life with family and friends. Lisa was known for her lack of a filter, not refraining from sharing her opinion, and her amazing ability to tell it like it is. These insightful and appropriate-ish observations usually ended in laughter.

Survivors include her sons, T.J. (Angie) Kalmes and Dallas (Nikki) Kalmes; grandchildren, Daisie, Kian, and Korrin; siblings, Michael Connelly, Jackie (Faron) Cram, and Tammy Connelly; nieces, Cathy, Shannon, Wendy, and Deanna, and Kari; and numerous extended relatives.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Patrick Connelly; and a nephew, Morgan.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Lisa’s memory for the Dubuque Regional Humane Society.
