Lloyd F. Bub Ruff, 84, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015, at his home, with his family by his side. A Funeral Service for Bub will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, September 4, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Bub will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Friday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Bub was born on October 13, 1930 in Bellevue, the son of Ignatius and Edith (Mueller) Ruff. After graduating from Marquette High, he joined the army in 1954 and served in the Korean War. Upon his return from service, Bub married Lorraine Gerardy, July 31, 1956 in Springbrook, Iowa. Bub worked for 23 years at John Deere, during which time he was also a barber in Bellevue. He enjoyed talking with people and was a happy go lucky guy, who always had a smile on his face. Bub worked for the Bellevue community for over 50 years, retiring in 2009. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Bub collected beehives and he had a special place in his heart for all animals. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 59 years, Lorraine; sons Michael and Mark Peanut, of Bellevue, daughter, Ann Sinclair, of DeWitt, Iowa; six grandchildren Justin (Lindsey) Sinclair, Heather (Jake) Mork, Matt, Nick, Alisha and Luke Ruff; three great grandchildren Rebecca, Jaelyn and Gunnar; and sister in-law Lavonne Ruff. Bub is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph, Art, Arnold and Remigius, and sisters Augusta Petesch, Eleanor Keil and Clesta Ruff.Reception:Horizon Hall970 North Riverview StreetBellevue, IA 52031
