Marcelene D. Eganhouse, 81 of Bellevue, IA passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at her home in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30pm, Wednesday, July 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Marcy will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Tuesday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue and again Wednesday morning after 11:00 also at the funeral home. Marcy was born April 15, 1935 in Zwingle, Iowa, daughter of Matthew and Mary (Dwyer) Franzen. She married Allan L. Eganhouse on April 29, 1953 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Marcy and Allan raised six sons while operating their family farm south of Bellevue. Marcy was a very passionate person. She was famous for her pies and baked goods. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Joes lunch program, Mill Valley Care Center and Sunrise Villa. Marcy could be seen walking her Yorkie all over town while making friends to all those she met. She enjoyed fishing, fall travels with Allan throughout the south and west. She also loved to run with her girlfriends. She spent many hours reading, working on Jigsaw Puzzles and mowing the lawn. Most of all she cherished time spent with her family. Those left to honor her memory include her five sons, Dean (Karen) Eganhouse, of Fulton, Illinois, Duane (Mary Jo) Eganhouse, of Davenport, Mark (Jane) Eganhouse, of Bellevue, Roger (Susan) Eganhouse, of DeWitt, and Darryl Eganhouse, of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 11 siblings; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary Eganhouse; a brother and sister. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice of Dubuque, and the doctors and nurses in the Oncology Department at Mercy in Dubuque.
