Marcella M. Gonner

Marcella Marie Gonner, 98 of Bellevue, died Friday, October 10, 2008 Belle Plaine Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 16 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Bellevue officiated by Father Stephen Meyer. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 until service time at the church. Marcella was born on February 2, 1910 in Bellevue, daughter of John and Mary (Arend) Haxmeier. She married Orville Roeder on January 3, 1933, he passed away on February 24, 1949. She married Joe Gonner on April 11, 1951, He passed away December 25, 1981. Marcella worked at the Goetz Bakery before she was married. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and playing cards with friends. In her later years she enjoyed spending time at the Bellevue Senior Citizens Center. She will be deeply missed. Surviving is her daughter, Jean (Merritt) Cody, of Prior Lake, Minnesota; five grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren.
