Marie L. Reistroffer, 85, of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at NuVista at Wellington Green in Wellington, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Tuesday evening or 9:00 to 10:00 Wednesday morning at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Marie was born December 17, 1929 in Boone, Iowa, daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Coon) Cummins. She married LeRoy Chris Reistroffer on April 12, 1947. They were married for 67 years. Chris her roommate passed away March 25, 2015. Marie was a homemaker who raised five children and loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her dogs, riding the bike trails with her friends and playing softball. Marie participated for many years in the Senior Olympics and even won a few gold medals. While enjoying her favorite hobby, riding horses, she assisted in establishing the Bellevue Saddle Club and was their initial secretary. She also spent many years participating on a city bowling league team. Those left to honor her memory include children: James (Etsuko) of Tacoma, Washington; Joseph (Bobbe) of Bellevue, Iowa; Christina (John) Zehnder of Elgin, Texas; David of Lonoke, Arkansas; and Jon (Linda) of West Palm Beach, Florida. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a brother, William Cummins, and many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Joseph, Robert, Francis, Wayne, Clarence, Helen, Dorothy and Elizabeth.
