Marilyn C. Haxmeier, 78, of Bellevue passed away Friday, September 19th, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. Marilyn was born November 13th, 1929 in Bellevue, daughter of the late Nick and Clara (Yoerger) Heiar. She married Donald J. Haxmeier May 24th, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. He preceded her in death June 15th, 2005. Marilyn was a homemaker and helped her husband Donald on the family farm. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved to help others and was a friend to many. She is survived by five children, Mary Lou (Donald) Weis, Bellevue, John (Susan) Haxmeier, Bellevue, Carol (Donald) Bradley, Waterloo, Lorin (Lisa) Haxmeier, Eagleville, MO, Rita (David) Haxmeier-Collison, Johnston, IA; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Allan (Ruth) Heiar, Bellevue, three sisters, Evelyn (Don) Neubert, Bellevue, Valeta (Ronald) Schmidt, Delmar and Verna Mae (Raymond) Ernst, Bellevue. Besides her loving husband, Donald Haxmeier and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Haxmeier and one brother, Richard Heiar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. The Rev. Fr. Stephen Meyer will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 3-7 PM at The Lemke Funeral Home of Bellevue and again on Tuesday from 9:30 10:15 at the funeral home. There will be a prayer service on Monday at 7 PM at the funeral home. The Lemke Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Bellevue is in charge of the arrangements.
