Mary Etta Dunne

Mary Etta Dunne, 76, of Otter Creek, died Saturday evening, February 24, 2018, at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 2, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Otter Creek. Visitation for Mary will be Thursday evening from 4:00 7:00 PM at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Friday morning from 9:30 10:30 AM at the church. Mary was born on September 5, 1941, in Springbrook, Iowa, daughter of Arnold and Alverda (Michel) Heiar. She married John V. Dunne on January 7, 1961, in Springbrook, he passed away September 29, 2013. Mary lived on a farm all her life, she was a model farm wife. She always treated the animals with respect and did what ever needed to be done. She was easy going, hardworking, nurturing and loving. Mary enjoyed reading and in her younger years loved to dance. Her family would tell you, she was the worlds best cook. Everything she cooked or baked was homemade and tasted great.She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her seven children, Thomas (Julie), of Cascade, Iowa, Peter (Janette), of Baldwin, Raymond, of Otter Creek, Jennifer (Jon) Blackert, of Mineral, Illinois, Maurice (Karen) and William, of Otter Creek and James, of Monticello, Iowa; four grandchildren, John Dunne Jr., Abigail and Patrick Blackert, and Jessica Tuel; mother, Alverda Heiar, of Bellevue and sister, Joanne (Donald) Schwager, of New Liberty.Mary is preceded in death by her father, husband, grandson, Jacob Dunne; brother, Harold Heiar and sister in-law, Mary Jo Heiar.
