Mary H. Koos, 91 of La Motte, IA passed away on Tuesday evening, March 22, 2016 at Mill Valley Care Center Bellevue, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, March 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Bellevue, with the Rev. Fr. Kruse officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in La Motte. Visitation for Mary will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Monday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue, where a Rosary will be said at 3:30pm. Visitation will also take place at the funeral home, Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00am. Mary was born May 12, 1924 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, daughter of Leonard & Dora (Weber) Hartung. She married Irvin Koos on September 22nd, 1948 in the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Hazel Green. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2015. Mary was a former member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaMotte and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a current member St Joseph Catholic Church, in Bellevue. Marys faith was very important to her, she attended daily Mass and also had a daily devotion of praying the rosary. She was also a member of the Luxembourg Society. Mary enjoyed playing cards with the La Motte ladies, friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in the states and Luxembourg, Europe. She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her eight children, Bridget (John) Costello of Delmar, Linda Koos of Maquoketa, Joyce (Ricky) Kohrt of Maquoketa, Wanda Koos of La Motte, and Leon (Joan) Koos of La Motte; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Kelly Koos; four brothers, Joseph, Bro. Martin, Leonard Jr. and Fabian; and four sisters, Leola Bussan, Lydia Mueller, Dorothy Holland and Margaret Heilman. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice of Jackson County and Mill Valley for the excellent care provided to Mary for the past four years.
