Mary Shirley Monner, 83, of Bellevue was called home suddenly Thursday morning, July 6th, 2017 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Bellevue. Burial will take place in the Parish cemetery. Visitation for Shirley will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Hachmann Funeral Home, Bellevue and again, Monday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.Shirley was born on December 16th, 1933 in Andrew, the daughter of Peter and Clara (Entringer) Till. Shirley grew up in Andrew, and graduated from Andrew High School in 1951. She married Merwin Monner on July 28, 1956. Together, Shirley and Merwin raised their two daughters in Bellevue. She worked at Ensign Coil Company for 25 years, retiring in 1996. Shirley was extremely generous and over the years she volunteered countless hours to various community organizations. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue and its Rosary Society. She also volunteered at St. Josephs hot lunch program for several years. Shirley enjoyed baking, sewing and walking. Many in the community will miss seeing Shirley on her multiple daily walks around town with her husband.Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 60 years, Merwin Monner, of Bellevue; two daughters, Carol (Dale Pooch) Ries, of Bellevue, and Sue (Steve) Flogel, of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Ryan and Alesha Ries and Nickolas (Sarah) and Nathan Flogel; two great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Stella Flogel; sister, Janiece (Al) Thola, of Charlotte; four brothers, Lavern (Naomi) Till, of Springbrook, Lowell (Arlene) Till, of Maquoketa, Eldon (Virginia) Till, of Davenport and Rich (Eunice) Till, of Maquoketa and sister in-law, Gwendola Till, of Bellevue.
