Maud L. James, 82, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, April 21, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center, ER. Maud was born October 23rd, 1925, in Duckhill, Mississippi to the late Dock and Rendy James. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He retired from CNW Railroad and presently was employed for ESB. He was a longtime member of the Second Baptist Church in Clinton. He loved the outdoors and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Leatha M. James and children, Maudi, (Leon) Walton of Camanche, Jessie Bowdry, Deloris James (Ron Pettis) Zelda (Eric) Collins of St. Paul, MN, Kathy (Joseph) Jackson, Robert (Loretta) of Richmond, VA, Helen, Manuel, David (Melinda), Stepsons, Jimmy and Benny Hardwick, 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte; a brother and a grandson. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, April 25th, 2008, at the Second Baptist Church, 438 Fourth Avenue North, Clinton. Pastor Nathanael Johnson Sr. will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 PM at The Lemke Funeral Home, 2304 N Second Street, Clinton. Pallbearers for the service will be Scott Stubblefield, George Stubblefield, Terry Freels, Allen Stubblefield, Wallace Howard and Jesse Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers are Fred Peters and T.C. Sampson.
