Meta A. Arrington

Meta A. Arrington, 96, of Bellevue, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, May13 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in St John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation for Meta will be held from 11:30 1:00pm Saturday morning at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Meta was born on September 6, 1920 in Amber, Iowa, daughter of Louis and Molly (Ottmanns) Knake. In her early years, Meta taught country school near St. Donatus. A couple of years later she moved to Wichita, Kansas to work at an Aircraft Factory during the war. She later married and raised four children, eventually made her way back to Bellevue. Meta was a hard worker, she worked at Goetz Implement for many years, in her later years she worked at the Bellevue Public Library. She was extremely intelligent, dedicated, genuine. Meta was a giving woman and always made time for others. She will be deeply missed.Those left to honor her memory include her three sons, Kevin (Sally Michels), of Bellevue, Mark, of Crosby, Texas, and David, of Vallejo, California; six grandchildren; brother Albert Bud (Lillian) Knake, of Bellevue; one sister, Minnie Knake, of Eldridge She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Jon Arrington; brother, Edward Knake and John Henry Knake; sisters, Ella Chantos, Eliza Meyer, Mary Young and Dena Glunz.
