Raymond A. Ernst, 90, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Monday Morning, October 22, 2012, at his home in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Raymond will be held from 3:00 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again on Thursday morning after 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home until procession to the church. Raymond was born on May 15, 1922 in Bellevue, son of Alve and Anna (Roling) Ernst. He married Verna Mae Heiar on May 5, 1953 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Raymond farmed all his life. In 1950 he and his father together purchased a farm south of Bellevue. A few years later his dad retired. Farming was Raymonds life, he was a hard worker and enjoyed the outdoors. In 1991 he sold the farm to his son and continued helping out right up until he couldnt just a few years ago. Raymond was an honest man who was quiet and easygoing. He loved his family and enjoyed playing cards and traveling. He will be deeply missed. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 59 years, Verna Mae, three sons, Dennis R. (Jane) Ernst, Glenn (Amy) Ernst, and Ray (Della) Ernst, all of Bellevue; daughter, Lou Ann (Tim) Roth, of Bellevue; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, two on the way; and a sister, Mary Ann (Lyle) Ties, of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Del Rose; grandson, Troy; and brother, Ben Ernst.
